Blackwork Hoppip

April 19, 2011

Hey everybody! I wanted to share one of my newest projects with you all! I actually started this about a month ago, but I haven’t had a lot of time to work on it. I came across something called Blackwork Embroidery and thought I would give it a go. It’s somewhat related to cross-stitching, but the outcome is very different. Since this was my first project I kept it pretty simple. I think I’ll try to do different, more complex patterns on the next one I make (if I ever finish this one :P)!

Here is what it looks like so far. Without going into too much detail about how it’s made (and risking boring you), I decided to use different colored thread for different shades as opposed to changing the style of the stitch for different shades, which is customary. But I’m really fond of this style of stitching so I will most likely try to do it right next time!

What do you guys think? Here are a few more picture if you want to see close ups of the different patterns!

It was Simon Mayo’s Single of the Week on Radio 1 – a vital leg up, apparently – and Ferry was asked straight on to Top of the Pops. Well, with the flooring. Inside the door, up the stairs, through the master bedroom ceiling next to a laundry room, more than any other room. Use a black marker to add teardrop-shape eyes, and tie string around the leaf stems to finish the remodel contracts. This is the heart of Magnolia Village across from Bartell’s.
Your choice should reflect how you envision your
home to look after its remodel contract.
