Blackwork Hoppip

April 19, 2011

Hey everybody! I wanted to share one of my newest projects with you all! I actually started this about a month ago, but I haven’t had a lot of time to work on it. I came across something called Blackwork Embroidery and thought I would give it a go. It’s somewhat related to cross-stitching, but the outcome is very different. Since this was my first project I kept it pretty simple. I think I’ll try to do different, more complex patterns on the next one I make (if I ever finish this one :P)!

Here is what it looks like so far. Without going into too much detail about how it’s made (and risking boring you), I decided to use different colored thread for different shades as opposed to changing the style of the stitch for different shades, which is customary. But I’m really fond of this style of stitching so I will most likely try to do it right next time!

What do you guys think? Here are a few more picture if you want to see close ups of the different patterns!

Solosis, Duosion, Reuniclus Magnets!

April 12, 2011

I finally made a complete evolution line of magnets! I made a couple of Reuniclus magnets for people (the one in the picture isn’t even for me!) and I completely fell in love with the Pokemon. Naturally I decided I loved Solosis and Duosion, too. So I made them all and wanted to share them with you guys!

A Huge Thank You!

April 7, 2011

I’m completely blown away by all of the amazing people that I’ve met since I started posting my videos on YouTube.  You are all insane. And amazing.

I started collecting cards to have something that I could do with my boyfriend that was Pokemon related, but wasn’t actually playing the game. And as a spur of the moment decision I started posting videos of my collecting. I figured it would help me meet people to trade with, since it seemed like a great community. Now here it is, a mere 4 months later, and I have over 600 subscribers and I’ve met some truly great people. You all make this experience so worthwhile.

I can’t really express in words how grateful I am for this whole experience, but I want to say thank you. Every single person who is subscribed and who I’ve had great conversations with and have traded with — Thank You.

And a very special thank you to Kurokitten87 for this amazing gift.

I am so excited to keep collecting and sharing it with you all, and to meet even more fantastically cool people.

Geometric Nostalgia T-Shirt

April 3, 2011

Hey everyone!

I recently came across something I think is pretty cool. This guy, Evan Stoler, came up with a fun t-shirt design that he’s called “Geometric Nostalgia”. Here’s what the design looks like:

Pretty nifty, huh?  Well, in order for this t-shirt to happen, Evan needs your help. He needs enough people to pledge support for his project before the t-shirts will be printed. If enough people pledge, the shirts will be printed. And you’ll get a t-shirt for pledging! He’s set an enormous goal for himself, so let’s try to help him out! Here’s the link to the page where you can find more information, and pledge to help support this project. And even if you’re not able to pledge yourself, pass on the information to others because I think it’s a really cool idea.

Just in case you missed it the first time 😉

Pokemon Keychains?

March 31, 2011

What do you all think about keychains? I had someone request one, and I think it actually came out pretty cool. It took a little extra work, and I had to figure out how to attach the key ring. This might not be how they will be in the future, since I was only working with an existing keychain that I took apart. But if this one is received well and people start asking for them, too, then I can definitely work on a more consistent way of attaching the keyring.

Here’s the one I made, it’s a Lilligant! Please leave me some feedback! (I may make a video about this since most people interact with me on YouTube instead of here! On that note, please subscribe to this blog! It’s a great way to say updated on everything I do!)

First 5th Generation Magnets

March 28, 2011

So, many of the new generation 5 Pokemon are growing on me. I have no idea why, but Litwick (a candle -__-) is the coolest thing since sliced bread to me. He’s cute, okay? And since the sprite is so tiny, I’m thinking about making a shiny version, too!

I also made a Reuniclus for someone. When he first emailed me (before the games were out) and asked me to make it, I thought he was crazy. I kept thinking, “Why the heck does he like this weird thing?!” But I’ve been playing the game nonstop for weeks. And when I completed the magnet, I decided I loved this Pokemon, too! And now Reuniclus, along with Litwick’s evolved form Chandelure, has a spot on my team in Pokemon White.

What does everyone else think of the new Generation 5 Pokemon now that the games and some cards have been out for a while? Let me know!

Black and White Preview Tins

March 26, 2011

I finally got to open the Black and White preview tins. I was super excited for them, and despite getting very average pulls, I’m still thrilled with them.

Look forward to 34 Call of Legends packs coming soon! I also have made 2 generation 5 magnets and I’ll be posting those soon!
